Alice Hayward Urband

Kattskill Bay* Alice Hayward Urband, 102, passed way peacefully Friday, March 1, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Francis and Bertha Hayward.


Alice Married Lt. Col. Edward Milton Urband in 1941 at the Lakeside Chapel in CLeverdale, NY and spent subsequent summers on the lake with her family until her retirement from Montclair Public Schools.  She was a member of Harrisena Community Church, PEO-Chapter CC, DAR and Glens Falls Hospital Guild.


In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband; by her daughter,Phyllis Harlow; grandson, Clifton Harlow; two brothers, Harold and Paul Hayward; and a sister, Virginia Ambler.


Survivors include sons, Howard Urband (Myra) of Lakewood, CO, David Urband (Lillian) of Schroon Lake, NY, Paul Urband (Vesta) of Middlebury, VT; daughter, Joan Matthews (Joel) Lake George, NY; grandchildren, James Urband, Timothy Urband (Deborah), Paul Urband (Kim), Ken Urband (Stacey), David Harlow, Kathryn Holznagel (Hans), Jane Page (Glenn), Edward Harlow (Kathleen), Daniel Urband (Theresa), Amy Urband, Sarah Louk (Joshua), Christopher Urband, Robert Urband (Lauren), Todd Matthews (Rebecca) and Steven Matthews; many great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.


Memorial services will be held at 11am Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Harrisena Community Church, Ridge Rd, Queensbury, NY   Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.  There are no calling hours scheduled.
