James H. Tyler Jr.

James H. Tyler Jr. of Kattskill Bay - passed away on April 15, 2018 at Glens Falls Hospital after a brief illness.

Jim was born on Dec. 28, 1935 in Queens, NY. He was the son of the late Florence (Wiebmer) & James H. Tyler Sr. He moved to Schenectady with his family at a young age. He graduated from The Albany Academy. He attended Dartmouth College, then spent some time in Tucson, AZ.  He was predeceased by his sister, Susan T. Lang.

In 1958 Jim began a career in banking with Trustco Bank. In 1994 he retired as a Vice President. He was a well known fixture at the Upper Union Street Office.  James enjoyed playing golf with his friends at the Mohawk Golf Club.  In 1944 he spent his 1st summer on Lake George and was forever captured by it's beauty and the majesty of the Adirondacks. He was an avid outdoorsman and athlete. He enjoyed both water and snow skiing. Jim's true passion was boating, especially in wooden boats. He was the proud owner of 2.  After retiring, he and his wife were fortunate enough to move to Kattskill Bay from Schenectady.  They spent many hours entertaining family and friends on the lake with food, fun and laughter, often around an outdoor fire.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Delores (Dee) Tyler of Kattskill Bay; his daughters: Sarah Tyler (Chad) Hilsendager of Denver, Colorado, Jill Tyler (Michaael) LaFrank of Queensbury and Amy Lynn Tyler of Clifton Park; grandchildren, Emily Tyler and William Hammond Hilsendager and severall nieces and nephews.

A funneral service was celebrated on April 20, 2018 at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, in Lake George. Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery in Lake George.  Arrangements were handled by Regan & Denny Stafford Funeral Home, 53 Quaker Road, Queensbury.
