Eleanor Marie (Taylor) Krihak

Glens Falls* Eleanor Marie (Taylor) Kirhak entered into eternal peace Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014, at her home after a long illness.  Eleanor ws born Aug. 7, 1923, in Troy, NY to the late Wilfred  and Gertrude (O'Pay) Taylor.

Eleanor is survived by two daughters, Linda Kirhak (Don) Boden and Paula Kirhak Christopoulos (compainion Doug); son Petr Krihak; grandchildren, Ryan (Dani) Boden, Meredith (Marshall) Nicholson, Max (Amanda) Christopoulos and Grace Krihak; great-grandchildren, Ben Nicholson, Sam Nicholson, Harry Nicholson, Lucas Boden and Olivia Boden.

In addition to her parents, Eleanore was predeceased by her husband Paul, who passed in June of 2014 and her loving brother, Don Taylor.

Eleanor graduated from Mechanicsville High School and Mildred Elley Business School.  She worked as a secretary for GE in Schenectady.   El met her future husband, Pau Krihakl, at Usher's Hotel on Lake George.  They married in 1948 and spent 65 years together until Paul's passing in June 2014. 

El was an active person who enjoyed dancing, singing, tennis, and golf.  She also voluntereed her time to the Glens Falls Hospital Guild for many years and was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Glens Falls.  She was a long time member of Glens Falls Country Club, Glens Falls Tennis & Swim Club and Mariner Sands Country Club in Stuart, FL

At El's request her services will be a private family gathering. The family would like to thank the loving caregivers who compassionately cared for El for many years: Virginia, Chelsea, Andy and Heather.  Special thanks to Hudson Headwaters Homeward Bound Program and to High Peaks Hospice for their tender care and support.
