Hudson Falls - James MacKenzie Fraser, 90 passed away on Feb. 1, 2018 in Albany surrounded by family.

Born on Feb. 25, 1927 in Hudson Falls he was the 1st son of the late Hugh and Barbara (Steven) Fraser. Jim graduated from Hudson Falls High school in 1944.   He graduated from Clarkson College of Technology in 1950.  He married the girl of his dreams, Claire Ruth Carleton in 1949 and shared 66 years of wedded bliss until she passed in 2015. He was also predeceased by his sister, Agnes Sanford.

Elsa E. Shopmyer

Burnt Hills - Elsa E. Shopmyer, 101 died peacefully with her family comforting her on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at the Pines in Glens Falls Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Elsa was born on November 17, 1916 in Schuylerville.  She was the daughter of the late Gustav and Anna (Berquist) Nordquist.   Elsa graduated from Nott Terrace High School and Emma Willard Business School.  She enjoyed a long and rewarding career as a teacher's aide at Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake CSD.

Robert Donald Hill

Robert Donald Hill of Sleepy Hollow and PIlot KNob, NY formerly of Irvington, NY, died peacefully on august 22, 2017 at Kendal-on-Hudson, Sleepy Hollow, NY from complications following a fall.

Born in the Bronx, NY on April 23, 1928, he was the son of the late Robert Edwards Hill and Evelyn (Robertson) Hill.

Bob married Virginia Hayes in 1951 and following her death in 2004, he married Marilyn Eager in 2005.

     Kattskill Bay, Francis T. Collins, 84 passed away Monday July 3 at Glens Falls Hospital after a brief illness, surounded by his loving family.  He was born on Sept. 8, 1932.   He was predeceased by his parents, Francis J. & Catherine (Bradley) Collins of County Kerry, Ireland. 

Minnie Eva (Saunders) Smith Davis Minshall

Minnie Eva (Saunders) Smith, Davis, Minshall, 94 of Argyle died on October 23, 2016 at Washington Center.

Born in Argyle, at the family farm, she was the 1st daughter of Leland Andrew and Ethel White (Clark) Saunders.  Her Brothers would tease her that she was the 1st to have a doctor come that had to be paid and she cost a whole dollar!!

Robert J. Bolen Jr.

Queensbury, Robert J. Bolen Jr.. passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at his home. He joined the love of his life and his own angel "Peggy" in heaven while surrounded by his loving family.  Robert was born Sept 7, 1924 in Montclair, NJ, the son of the late Robert and Mildred Bolen.   Besides his parents; Robert was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Peggy, his brother John Bolen and his sisters, Eleanor Christie, Mildred Lefferts and Catherine Cherry.

Joan Patricia Mullane

Stratford, CT.  Joan Patricia Mullane, 82, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2016.  She was the youngest of seven children of Thomas and Agnes Minogue, who predeceased her. Pat was born and raised in Bridgeport, Connecticut and graduated from Harding High School, Class of 1951.  She and her husband "Bill" (WIlliam R. Mullane) were married 56 years at his passing in March 2013.  They raised five children: Kevin, Brian, Ellen, David and Karin at there home on Duane Place in Bridgeport, CT.  Pat was a hands on mom and always there for her kids and their activities.

Thornton, CO;  Phyllis O. Wheatlake, 101, died on November 13, 2015.  She was born on October 31, 1914 in Glens Falls.  She was the daughter of the late Gertrude Bullard Robinson and Albert George Robinson.

Queensbury * Marjorie Oliver Dunham, 94, died Monday May 4, 2015, at The Glen at Hiland Meadows, her home of 14 years. Born in 1921 in Slingerlands to John and Anna (Roeder) Oliver, who predeceased her.  Throughout her years, she aspired to be a good mother and wife and she far surpassed that goal!  Her ongoing and generous love for her family, many friends and everyone she met, was her gift to us all.

Glens Falls* Eleanor Marie (Taylor) Kirhak entered into eternal peace Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014, at her home after a long illness.  Eleanor ws born Aug. 7, 1923, in Troy, NY to the late Wilfred  and Gertrude (O'Pay) Taylor.

Eleanor is survived by two daughters, Linda Kirhak (Don) Boden and Paula Kirhak Christopoulos (compainion Doug); son Petr Krihak; grandchildren, Ryan (Dani) Boden, Meredith (Marshall) Nicholson, Max (Amanda) Christopoulos and Grace Krihak; great-grandchildren, Ben Nicholson, Sam Nicholson, Harry Nicholson, Lucas Boden and Olivia Boden.

Mead, 84, passed away on Wednesday Nov. 4, 2014 at Albany Medical Ctr., sourrounded by her vast and loving family.  As we wipe our tears and reflect on the miracle that was Grandma Madeline, we are comforted to know our desolate sadness in this moment is but a minuscule remittance for the shining light she brought to us and to the world for every second of her 84 years here on Earth. The Lord called home one of His greatest angels and now she gets to sit at His side and see her son Matthew, who passed away 38 years ago.

Maxine was born July 29, 1943, in Long Beach, NY to Samuel and Bess Weissman. She graduated from Long Beach Hish school in June 1960, then attended Bryant College in Rhode Island and graduated with a legal secretary degree.She moved to New York City, where she worked as a legal secretary for several years.

Jacksonville, FL* Charles Walter Miller, 82, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 16, 2014.  Charles was born Aug. 6, 1931 in Astoria to the late Jacob and Marie Miller.

He is survived by his wife, Helga Stutz Miller and daughters, Vicki Miller, Karen (Mark) Miller and Laura Miller.  Charles is also survived by his stepson, Bob Stutz and his sister-in-law, Pat Bunso.  Charles ws predeceased by his first wife, Barbara and his brother, John Miller.

     Pearl was predeceased by her parents, Ida and Arnold Hunsperger, her husband of 39 years, Jared H. Stark, a son, Richard Stark of Memphis, TN; sisters, Helen Maloy, Ruth Weaver, Dora Case, Gertie Duell, Emmy Smith and brothers, John, Walt and Otto Hunsperger.

Lincoln "Linc" Cathers

Queensbury* Lincoln "Linc" Cathers, 79, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, Jun 1, 2013. 

     Linc, a self-proclaimed "Mesothelioma Warrior", was steadfastly committed to helping find a cure for this tragic cancer caused by asbestos exposure and, to that end. he courageously participated in numerous clinical research trials at the National Institute of Health, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Brigham and Women's Hospital and Columbia University. He was also cared for locally by his deeply committed and compassionate oncologist, Dr. Eric Pillemer.

Mac Cullough born Sept. 2, 1927, passed away on Tuesday May 14, 2013 at her home.  Known as "Miss Mac", by the students, she was the former gym teacher at Queensbury High School from 1953 till her retirement in 2002.  She is survived by her best friend and companion of more than 40 years, Barbara Hoague and her dog Pepper.

Norman was predeceased by his parents, Lynd and Helen (Kearns) Cox.  He was also predeceased by his wife, Selma J. Byrd in 1997 after 50 years of marriage, his daughter Jane Cox and three brothers, Lynd, Donald and Edmund Cox.

Kattskill Bay* Alice Hayward Urband, 102, passed way peacefully Friday, March 1, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Francis and Bertha Hayward.

Alice Married Lt. Col. Edward Milton Urband in 1941 at the Lakeside Chapel in CLeverdale, NY and spent subsequent summers on the lake with her family until her retirement from Montclair Public Schools.  She was a member of Harrisena Community Church, PEO-Chapter CC, DAR and Glens Falls Hospital Guild.

Florence Lillian Hoague

Queensbury * Florence Lillian Hoague, 92, formerly of Glens Falls, passsed away Sunday Oct. 28, 2012, at Westmont Health Facility.

Born Sept. 8, 1920, in Fort Ann, she was the daughter of the late Jared S. Evens and Julia E. (Kimberly) Evens Crannell. She attended Fort Ann school and Glens Falls Academy.

Beside her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Joseph Hoague, who passed waay June 25, 1986, one son, H. Richard Hoague, a stepson, Joseph A. Hoague, and a half brother, Howard C. Crannell.

S. Glens Falls * Eleanor Mary Lemery, 82 of Lamplighter Acres, passed away on Sept. 14, 2012, at the Pines Nursing Center.

She was the daughter of the late Reidar and Elizabeth F. (LeClair) Olsen. Eleanor married Charles E. Lemery Sr. on Feb. 16, 1947. They were married for 53 years before he passed away on April 9, 2000.  In addition to her parents and husband, Eleanor was predeceased by one daughter, Patricia Mullen; a grandson, Scott Chenier and two sisters, Patricia Arcuri and Shirley Peck.

He was the son of the late Marie Woolman Bascom and Milton Thayer McLaughlin. He graduated from Hudson Falls high school in 1947.   On Nov. 3, 1979 he married Brigid McConville Harris in Lake George, NY.

Queensbury*  Martha E. Bombard, 90, formerly of Pilot Knob, passed away, surrounded by her loving family, Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the Stanton Nursing and Rehab Center. She had also previously resided at The Terrace at the Glen.

She was predeceased by her parents, Wilfred and Rose (Lynch) Brodeur and her sister Anne Webster. On May 25, 1946, Martha married Robert Bombard. He passed away May 26, 1977. For 17 years, Martha and her husband Robert owned and operated Martha's Inn in Hudson Falls.

    Nicky Cutro's "Enclave at Lake George", a 10 home subdivision proposed for the East side of the lake, has received approvals from the Lake George Park Commission and the Fort Ann Planning Board. 

   Mike O'Connor, Mr. Cutro's attorney, said the park commission approved "minor variances for our stormwater management plan" at its January meeting.

She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Stephen A. Kurac Sr. in 2003.
